AACPS is Currently Accepting Applications for the 2024-25 School Year
The Monarch Academy Annapolis Prekindergarten Program offers learning and fun for children aged 3-5, as well as convenient options and reassurance for their families. FREE and open to county residents only, our program is funded through a grant from the Division of Early Childhood at the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE). The largest of its kind in the county, our school currently features six pre-kindergarten classrooms full of excited young students! The program follows MSDE Pre-Kindergarten guidelines for admission.
Your child will have daily IB-level education in math, science, cultural arts, social studies, Spanish, and literacy. They will get their creativity flowing with music and art. We know the importance of physical activity and outside time and including Physical Education time, canopy time, and of course, recess. We put the physical and emotional safety of each child first.
Our program is only available to students who reside in Anne Arundel County, and who will be 3 or 4 years old by Sept. 1, 2024 for the 2024-25 school year. Public prekindergarten programs funded through the state’s PreK Expansion Capacity Grant are designed to improve the school readiness of children who:
- meet the income guidelines
- are homeless,
- have an active IEP,
- or speak a home language that is something other than English.
After submitting your application, you will receive a confirmation email with a magnet ID number. Please save this email—you will need this information after the county announces school assignments in the Spring. The application confirmation email does not guarantee the completion of registration or guarantee a seat at Monarch Academy Annapolis. The admissions team will follow up with the next steps in the registration process, including income verification.
