Transformational virtual learning at Monarch Academy Annapolis

Where Learning Takes Flight!

Key Features:

  • Flexible, Blended Learning: 80% virtual, up to 20% opportunity to be in person

    • Schedule of in school learning opportunities will be provided by each teacher and most will be optional

    • When on campus, eSchool students will be instructed in a dedicated area on the building with its own entrance and limited usage and have access to a maker space, a collaborative space inside a school for making, learning, exploring and sharing

  • Rigorous academic programming rooted in Primary Years Programme and Arts Integration

    • Our PYP Program includes instruction in Spanish language and culture

  • Well-rounded focus on the whole child: academics, arts, health and wellness, and social emotional wellness

  • Mix of live and independent learning opportunities, including whole group and small group

  • Instruction provided in all content areas: Reading, Writing, Math, Science, Social Studies, Art, Music, PE, Media, and Social Emotional learning

  • Technology tools provided for all eLearning students as well as tangible materials such as math manipulatives and supporting workbooks and texts

    • Technology platforms appropriate for each age group will be utilized to best support their technological skills

  • Banded classes (Pre-K-1, 2-3, 4-5), coupled with high levels of collaboration among all eSchool students and teachers, allow for a variety of groupings and individualized remediation and acceleration

  • Creative approaches to let learning take flight beyond the traditional brick and mortar school building

  • Exceptionally strong, caring, and technologically-savvy teachers who demonstrated strength in eLearning during the COVID-19 crisis provide the planning and instruction for the program
