As part of Governor Larry Hogan’s “Day to Serve” initiative, the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency participated in a landscaping and painting project in October at Monarch Academy Baltimore. More than 50 volunteers, who worked from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and donated over 150 service hours planted flowers and painted a shed and steps and did other maintenance projects on the school grounds. The “Day to Serve” provides an opportunity for state employees to offer their time and efforts to benefit Marylanders through community service. Participating in local community service gives them a chance to make Baltimore a better place to live and work.
We thank the Maryland lottery and Gaming Control Agency for choosing Monarch Academy Baltimore for their “Day to Serve” project.
