The Children’s Guild’s Monarch Academy Annapolis Public Charter School held a Grandparents Day for all of its students on Wednesday, March 28th from 10:00am to 1:00pm at the school. Those in attendance were Principal Myers, Assistant Principal McCann, School Counselor, Nikki Johnson, grandparents, grandfriends, and the whole school community.
Grandparents Day gave the Monarch Academy students an opportunity to showcase to their grandparents and their grandparents’ friends the academic and social success that they have achieved at the school and the great things that are happening at Monarch Academy Annapolis such as the upcoming Lion King musical that is set to take place starting May 23rd through May 25th. The grandparents were also able to participate with their grandchildren during regular class instruction.
Principal Myers and Assistant Principal McCann kicked off Grandparents Day by greeting the grandparents and their friends before the 30-minute program. The program included performances from the Monarch Academy Annapolis student dance club, band and strings, and drama club. See Grandparents Day Program 2018. The event also included refreshments, door prizes (gift cards and book fair coupons), a Spring Book Fair for families to purchase books, and a classic photography station where families could take formal photos.
